Frequently Asked Questions
Does acupuncture work?
Acupuncture is a tried and tested system of complementary medicine, which many eastern cultures have been using to restore and maintain good health for thousands of years.
More and more people are finding that acupuncture is an affective solution to many of the illnesses that effect us today.
Acupuncture is now widely used around the world, and there are nearly 3000 qualified acupuncturist's working within the UK.
What will happen if you choose to come for treatment?
I will ask you about your current symptoms, what treatment you have already received for the condition, your medical history, as well as asking about things that may not seem related, such as sleep patterns and possibly your diet. I will feel your pulses and ask to look at your tongue. This is helpful to me as a way of deciding on the best acupuncture points to use for you.
Is it safe?
Acupuncture has a very good record, the needles that are used are sterile, and single use. After treatment some people can feel tired, or light headed and on occasion minor bruising may occur.
What does it feel like?
Acupuncture needles are very fine, and unlike needles used for injections are solid. When the needle is inserted there can be a feeling of tingling or dull ache.
